5 Reasons To Get Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone's 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' DVD/Blu-Ray! [Watch Videos]
Emma Stone (Easy A) and Andrew Garfield (The Social Network) are back in the blockbuster flick, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which is about to hit DVD/Blu-Ray stands everywhere. This is the prefect opportunity to look back on the Spider-Man sequel and see what made this Marvel Comics superhero such a hit with audiences.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 kicks off where the first installment left off and introduces audiences to a new Marvel super-villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx). Here are five reasons why you should grab your own edition of the Spidey sequel.
5) The Destruction Of Time Square
This is where the special effects were cranked to maximum capacity. In their first confrontation, Electro (Foxx) is erratic as he throws his powerful bolts of energy randomly at the crowd and at the wall-crawler. In a fantastic wide shot, we see the tall buildings collapsing and the lights turning out in the Big Apple's major tourist spot.
4) The Chemistry Between Garfield And Stone
Maybe it's because in real life, these two stars are dating, their off-screen chemistry translates so well on-screen. When these two lovebirds start bantering back and forth, we the audience feel like the third wheel. I don't know about you, but I did feel like I was eavesdropping on their romantic date.
3) Sally Field
This is quite possibly the best representation of comic book icon, Aunt May. When Peter Parker's beloved aunt cries during mid-speech, telling her nephew she has always been his mother, the Oscar-winning actress delivers a genuinely heartfelt performance. For an actress who has started her career since the '60s, Field will now be recognized by a whole new generation of moviegoers as Aunt May.
2) Gwen Stacy's Last Scene
Yep, director Marc Webb ((500) Days of Summer) went there, taking a page straight out of the comics. Even Stone was dressed up like her comic book alter ego for the shocking scene. We loved seeing our leading stars together, that's why we're going to miss the Zombieland beauty.
1) Prelude to Sinister Six
Since we have met Green Goblin (Dane DeHaan) Rhino (Paul Giamatti) and Electro, that means we still have three more Marvel baddies to meet. In the foreboding scene, we have seen Dr. Octopus' robotic arms moving by themselves. Does this mean we will see Venom's alien suit constructed in a lab?
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be released on DVD/Blu-Ray August 19. Readers, are you excited to have your own copy in your hands?
