Another Duggar Wedding! Third Duggar Child, Jessa Duggar Engaged To Ben Seewald; The Seewald's Express Their Thoughts On Their Future Daughter-In-Law
Look's like fans of the 19 Kids and Counting will be counting down until they witness another wedding!
MStars News has learned that Jessa Duggar will be the third Duggar child to get married. Jessa, 21 who has been dating Ben Seewald, 19 on camera for a little over a year now will be planning a wedding.
The new season will be kicking off on Sept. 2 at 9 p.m. featuring the couple's "courtship." According to PEOPLE, Ben's parents, Michael and Guinn, reflected on their son, and how he was as a kid.
"When Michael and I had Ben, he was a great baby, but he was a real handful as a toddler," Guinn, 40,revealed. "He was very adventurous. He was a very opinionated kid."
Ben, is no stranger to maturity. He is the oldest of seven children and lives in Hot Springs, Arkansas, where he currently attends college as a full-time student studying business. The 19-year-old also takes after his father working as an auto glass replacement and repairman.
"He is mature and always has been," his father, Michael, 39, shared. "We have tried to treat him like an adult growing up. He did kid things, but with adulthood in view. He has had that his whole life."
Ben is the first child in the Seewald family to enter into a "courtship" which according to the Duggars and the Seewalds, dating with the intentions of getting married. Although he has a lot on his hands right now, his parents have revealed that they have tried to mode him into a man that will be a good husband and father someday.
"He is in full-time college, full-time work, and doing well," His mother said. "He is handling a full plate right now."
The magazine revealed that the newly engaged couple decided to wait to hold hands during courtship before becoming engaged, and save their first kiss until their wedding day, just like her older sister Jill did when she got married, as well as her older brother Josh.
"There is nothing in the Bible that says 'thou shalt court,' " Guinn explained. "But we have raised our kids to know that someone else's heart is like a treasure, and you want to be careful with that other person and treat them with great respect. There is no perfect pattern. Treat other people as a gift. Honor God and your relationship."
When courting couples must have a chaperone present, and Ben revealed that getting his fiancée's younger siblings to chaperone was sometimes a challenge.
"Jessa and I found out that Jill and Derick were bribing the younger Duggar kids with Skittles payment to be chaperones for them," Ben said. "We had no idea that's why they had such an easier time of getting chaperones."
Despite the difference in the amount of kids Ben's parents have compared to Jim Bob, 48, and Michelle, 47, the Seewald's say that it is up to Jessa and Ben on how many children they would like to have.
"How many kids they have is Ben and Jessa's decision, and they can figure that out," Michael told PEOPLE.
Some may think that Jessa and Ben are too young to get married, especially Ben because he is only 19, but the Seewald's say he's mature enough to handle this relationship.
"I was the same age as Ben when I was going through the same thing," Ben's father said. "For me, it helped to mature me. A committed relationship does a lot to mature a young man. It does make them grow up a little bit. I can see that happening to Ben already."
When asked how the Seewald's feel about their future daughter-in-law?
"She is very strong," Guinn expressed. "She is very intelligent. She has a lot to offer to a conversation. She has great ideas - I have enjoyed getting to know her."
Michael piggybacked and said, "She is exactly who we would want our son to have a relationship with."
