Marvel Comics' 'Uncanny X-Men #25' - Brian Michael Bendis & Chris Bachalo's 'The Last Will &Testament of Charles Xavier' Ends!
The dark secrets of mutant telepath Professor X will be revealed in Marvel Comics' oversized Uncanny X-Men #25. Writer Brian Michael Bendis (Miles Morales: Ultimate Spider-Man) and artist Chris Bachalo (Wolverine And The X-Men) are taking readers straight towards the shocking finale of 'The Last Will &Testament of Charles Xavier.'
As we mentioned here, Xavier was one of the major casualties from Avengers vs. X-Men (AvX) crossover event. Even though he was lying beaten and bleeding on the floor, Xavier would not give up against the powerful Phoenix Force. After the Phoenix possessed Cyclops' mind and body, Scott Summers delivered the death blow to his mentor/father figure.
Now, to tie-in with the recent Original Sin event, X-Men fans will discover what what Xavier has been hiding. The theme of Original Sin is that no crime from the past has been forgotten. Whatever you have done in the past will come back to haunt you.
In an interview with Newsrama, Bendis teases that even his closet students didn't know who their mentor really was in his past life, "We have never known all of Charles' secrets. We have never known how far Charles was willing to go, how much of his power he was willing to use, to make his dream of mutants and humans living together a reality."
In the story arc, the peace-activist knew he might perish one day and left a will specifically for Cyclops to find. Will Xavier's "final gift" to his beloved students turn out to be a major threat to the X-Men's existence? An unstoppable power has now been unleashed that will send shockwaves to the co-existence between mutants and humans. Though both camps of the X-Men have been separated, they will have to come together to fulfill Xavier's last request.
The Last Will & Testament of Charles Xavier comes to a staggering conclusion in Uncanny X-Men #25. Readers, are you excited to see how this story arc ends on September 3?
