Before every Spider-Man from every universe unites in the upcoming Spider-Verse event, Marvel Comics will kick off their prequel miniseries with, Edge of Spider-Verse #1. Co-writers David Hine & Fabrice Sapolsky join artist Richard Isanove for the return of fan-favorite Spider-Man Noir in an all new action-packed adventure.

As reported here, in this noir version, the Spidey mythology takes readers back to the 1930s, during the Great Depression. Peter Parker is still the superhuman wall-crawler, but he also wears a trench coat, cover his face with a black mask, and carries a gun with him. On top of that, this isn't the special effects wizard that fans have already met, though the animosity between Mysterio and the web-spinner is still there.

In the narrative, Parker finds himself clashing with Mysterio at the World's Fair in 1939. For some reason, the Marvel super-villain wants the web-spinner's blood. By the end of the issue, someone close to the superhero will die a very nasty death.

The Edge of Spider-Verse 5-part miniseries is just a small part of the bigger puzzle. The darkness is coming and it will take each reincarnation of Spider-Man to prevent the apocalypse from happening. The tie-in issues will continue in Superior Spider-Man #32 & #33, Amazing Spider-Man #7 & #8, and Spider-Man 2099 #5

Not only do we have the return of Spider-Man Noir, we also have the release of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 DVD/Blu-Ray. Relive the blockbuster sequel with Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone as they go up against Electro and the Green Goblin

Edge of Spider-Verse #1 will hit stores on September 10. Readers, are you excited for another tale of Spider-Man Noir?
