Will Scandal Film in Washington D.C. in Season 4 or Ever?
ABC's Scandal takes place in Washington D.C. and spends an inordinate amount of time inside the White House, but the show does not actually film there. But could that soon change?
The "Ask Ausiello" column at TVLine fielded a question this week about a possible road trip to D.C. to film part of the series.
Question: Will Scandal have some scenes shot in Washington D.C. this upcoming season? -Kyle
Ausiello: If not this season then (likely) at some point in the show's run. 'I wish, I hope, I want to,' Shonda Rhimes tells me, adding that 'budgets, budgets, budgets' are the No. 1 obstacle to taking the show on the road to the nation's capital. 'It's expensive to go there, for any production. But we'd like to. We hope to. We're trying to save our pennies.'"
It would certainly add a nice layer to the show if we could see Olivia (Kerry Washington) and the other in front of the actual White House or Capitol Building, but we'll find out if that happens later in the show's run.
For those who missed it, Mary McCormack and Josh Randall have secured guest-starring roles on the Shonda Rhimesseries. The only tangible information available is the two will play a couple and will appear in an episode scheduled for early October. All other details remain under wraps, as is usually the case with Scandal.
McCormack is perhaps best known for her work on The West Wing and In Plain Sight, while Randall has appeared onCSI and Rhimes' two other series, Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice, in which he played two different characters.
