Le'Veon Bell, LeGarrette Blount Pot Bust: Pittsburgh Steelers Face Drug Charges! Will Team Lose Against Philadelphia Eagles?
Just as they were about to take on the Philadelphia Eagles for their third preseason game, the Pittsburgh Steelers now have to deal with their two star players and their drug charges. Running backs Le'Veon Bell and LeGarrette Blount will be charged with marijuana possession after getting caught during a routine traffic stop.
According to ESPN, traffic officer Sean Stafiej pulled over a Camaro, which had a strong order coming from inside. With Bell behind the wheel, Stafiej discovered a 20 gram bag of marijuana. Bell, Blount and an unidentified female passenger banded together to claim ownership over the bag of weed.
The NFL organization will no doubt review the case as Steelers spokesman Burt Lauten states, "We are aware of the reports and still gathering information. We will have no further comment at this time."
The clock though is ticking for team officials and coach Mike Tomlin to decide whether or not these two football athletes will play against the Eagles.
The running backs and their female passenger are expected to receive notice of formal charges through the incoming mail. Marihuana possession and DUI charges are both misdemeanors. This latest drug bust will not sit well with the rest of them team, considering how they are just mere weeks away from the regular season.
With his teammates facing disciplinary action, the Eagles game leaves star quarterback Ben Roethlisberger to carry the Steelers offense.
Running backs Le'Veon Bell and LeGarrette Blount have been busted for pot charges. Do the Pittsburgh Steelers stand a chance of winning against the Philadelphia Eagles with these players possibly benched from the game?
