Emmy Awards 2014 Update: Sara Bareilles & Billy Crystal To Honor Robin Williams At Monday's Ceremony
The 66th Primetime Emmy Awards are less than a week away but reports are claiming that the event is about to get even more star-studded. Sara Bareilles has been enlisted to pay tribute to the late Robin Williams as she has been asked to sing during the In Memoriam segment of the show.
This will be the first award show to air that will pay tribute to Williams death, which occurred earlier this month. The award-winning award committed suicide in his California home two weeks ago.
Billy Crystal, a longtime friend of the late actor is also set to pay tribute to the Hollywood legend at the ceremony, hosted by Seth Meyers. This will be the second time that Crystal is speaking out about the death of his friend, who worked together in 1997 on the comedy Father's Day. He previously posted a message to Robin on his Twitter account with just two words, writing "No words."
According to Billboard, the news of both Bareille's performance and Crystal's tribute was confirmed by Don Mischer, the executive producer of the award show on August 20, while they were rolling out the red carpet in Los Angeles.
Also set to present at the award show will be Halle Berry, Bryan Cranston, Stephen Colbert, Viola Davis, Jimmy Fallon, Matthew McConaughey, Julia Roberts, and Kerry Washington.
The 66th Emmy awards are set to take place on Monday, August 25, and will be broadcasted live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles at 8 pm ET on NBC.
