'The Vampire Diares' Season 6 Preview- Is Damon Dead? How Will Elena React To Her Loss? Watch The New Clip

It's been a long dry summer without new episodes of The Vampire Diaries to get us through the scorching heat. But with a new premiere date set for season six, we can almost see the light at the end of the tunnel. Elena (Nina Dobrev), Stefan (Paul Wesley), and Caroline (Candice Accola) are all back for another round of bloodsucking fun, but what about Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Bonnie (Kat Graham)?

Julie Plec, the creator of The Vampire Diaries, has not been nice to us, as she is going to make us wait five months until we can finally learn what happened to Damon and Bonnie when the other side imploded at the end of the fifth season.

However, we do get a glimpse into the aftermath of the afore mentioned events with the new preview from the season called "Bite Back."

In the clip we see Stefan, Caroline and Elena as they try to get back to their "normal" lives after losing two of their best friends. However, it looks like Elena is going to extremes to try to connect with her on-again, off-again boyfriend. As Caroline so delicately puts it, "Elena has a witchy drug problem that makes her hallucinate Damon."

Now that we just watched the preview, we are craving the new season even more than we were before. Ugh, why do they do this to us.

We'll just have to breakout all our old season box-sets and re-watch them until the new season premieres on Thursday, October 2 at 8 pm on The CW.
