CW's 'The Flash' Spoilers: Will Grant Gustin's Barry Allen Discover Tom Cavanagh's Secret?
With the season premiere quickly approaching, less than 52 days away, leading actor Grant Gustin talks about playing the titled DC Comics superhero, The Flash. Gustin also reveals that there will be conflict between Barry Allen and his mentor Harrison Wells, played by Tom Cavanagh.
From what we have reported, Cavanagh's Dr. Wells plays a major role in Barry's development as a hero. When Barry is suddenly stuck by lighting, Wells is caught in the lab's massive explosion. The S.T.A.R. Labs scientist, who has been in a wheelchair since the incident, has been harboring a secret of his own.
With Barry having the use of his legs and gaining super-speed powers, could there be jealousy brewing within the good doctor? In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Gustin teases that audiences should watch carefully during the pilot's final moments. What is sure to be a shocking cliff-hanger, questions will arise as an ongoing mystery continues, revolving around Wells' dark past and the speedster's fate.
The Arrow guest star hints, "We're going to slowly find out more about Harrison Wells and what the hell is going on there." Grant continues, "They're setting up the fact that the Flashpoint story line, from the comics, could potentially happen - that Speed Force could be an aspect and time travel is potentially a part of the show."
In the epic Flashpoint crossover arc, the Flash ends up in a parallel universe where Captain Cold (which will be played by Wentworth Miller) is the hero. This could also be a great way to introduce Kid Flash and Booster Gold into the TV series.
