Tom Cleverley, Javier Hernandez, Shinji Kagawa & Louis Van Gaal: Premier League Stars Told To Leave Manchester United
Louis Van Gaal has been assessing his Manchester United squad, and their dreadful Premier League start appears to of made up his mind. He is close to sending stars Tom Cleverley, Javier Hernandez and Shinji Kagawa to new clubs, raising cash, creating squad space, and getting the rebuilding project one step closer. It's rumoured that clubs like Juventus, Borussia Dormund and Aston Villa are close to signing these stars. Will Van Gaal regret losing them?
Cleverley was highly rated by many, but he has become somewhat of a laughing stock in recent years, with the player himself claiming he couldn't do much other than pass the ball. United are trying to add goals, grit and determination to their midfield, and despite having age on his side, the England international doesn't have any of that. However, he'd be a great fit at a team like Villa, who have far less expectation and pressure on their shoulders.
Hernandez started his Untied career well and become a club hero, but he's fizzled out, failing to score off the bench, and being ghost-like when given the chance to start. By selling him, the club can find a bigger, better forward with a better record. Hernandez could well blossom in to a world class talent if he gets a move to Juventus, so this move makes sense for both of them. Kagawa has been a victim of United's managerial, player and system changes, and it seems like he fancies a return to his former club Borussia Dortmund.
Van Gaal is set to open the exit door and push several big-name players through it, but is he making a mistake, or a smart choice?
