We all know Daniel Radcliife as Harry Potter, but the work he's done after the wizardry movies have proven he's more than just a child star. His latest film, Horns, is an amazing example of his range. This demonic horror/romance film tells a story of a young man whose girlfriend is murdered and when he's blamed by the town, he begins to gain some supernatural powers ... and horns begin to grow from his head!

Another great example of an actor stepping out of his or her comfort zone is Steve Carrell in Foxcatcher. Portraying John du Pont of the infamous du Pont family - a former sort-of royalty in the USA - Carrell tackles a role that hinders on creepy and insane. With Channing Tatum portraying an aspiring wrestler trying to make it to the Olympics, things go horribly wrong when he is taken under du Pont's wing.
