Miranda Lambert & Blake Shelton Vegas Residency? Couple Turns Down Shows At The Colosseum
Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton aren't about to turn Sin City into a country paradise. The country couple is turning down a pretty big offer to play at The Colosseum in Caesars Palace for a one-weekend engagement.
The duo was reportedly offered $1 million to play and take on a residency at the venue for one weekend while Celine Dion takes some time off. The diva has been playing her "New Day Has Come" tour at the venue for a while now but she is postponing it to take care of her sick husband Renee.
Blake and Miranda were offered $1 million just to play three shows at the 4,300-seat arena, but according to TMZ when they counter offered at $1.25 million, the venue backed out.
The Colosseum needs to fill some empty dates while their diva is out of commission and they have been looking at some pretty big name acts including Mariah Carey, Miranda and Blake, and even comedian's Chris Rock and Chelsea Handler.
According to the news site, Carey turned down a 6-figure deal to play at the venue back in 2013, so we aren't sure that she will pick up the mic now. The star is currently going through a divorce from her husband Nick Cannon, which is even more reason that she would not want to take on the responsibility.
The venue is represented by AEG.
