One Direction Expected to Play at Olympic Games Closing Ceremony
One Direction is expected to be perform at the 2012 Olympic Games closing ceremony in London, according to The Mirror. The closing ceremony will take place on August 12 and top artists are expected to take the stage together.
It's rumored that they will perform alongside Ed Sheeran, who wrote "Moments" for the group.
When Sheeran met with MTV in a recent interview, he was not able to comment on it.
"I was told not to say anything about that, and then as soon as I was told not to say anything about that, it was in The Daily Mail the next day. It was a bit odd. The closing ceremony, there were rumors I am playing the closing ceremony. Those rumors may or may not be true."
Though it hasn't been officially confirmed regarding 1D or Sheeran, British newspapers sound pretty sure of their participation in the highly anticipated Olympic Games closing ceremony.
With all the excitement in London surrounding the Olympic Games, One Direction can't help but catch the hype.
Blonde haired Niall Horan tweeted, "Don't know if it's just me, but the excitement in London is unbelievable! Its gonna be a great games."
Liam Payne also wrote, "If I wasn't in 1D, running the olympics would of been my dream :)."
Other bands expected to join One Direction at the Olympic Games closing ceremony include the Spice Girls, Queen, The Who, and Take That.
