Joan Rivers isn't out of the woods yet. The 81-year-old comedienne and Fashion Police host was brought out of her medically induced coma on Sunday but it looks like she is remaining on life support according to new reports from Us Weekly. Joan's daughter Melissa Rivers issued a new statement today regarding her mother's health.

"On behalf of my mother and our family, we are extremely grateful for all the love and support we've received. At this time, she does remain on life support," Melissa revealed in a statement earlier today.

"I know my mother would be overwhelmed by the continued outpouring of kindness, and I want to thank everyone for keeping us in their prayers," she concluded.

Joan has been at Mount Sinai Hospital since Thursday when she underwent a routine surgery at an Upper East Side endoscopy clinic regarding her vocal cords. The star stopped breathing on the table and went into cardiac arrest, at which time she was rushed to the hospital and placed in a medically induced coma.

The doctors began bringing her out of the coma on Sunday, but revealed that they wouldn't know the extent of the damage that was caused by her cardiac arrest until Tuesday at the earliest.

A source also explained to E! News about Joan's recovery process saying, "It's a slow process, but she's on the road to recovery. She's getting better. Don't believe all this ridiculous speculation."

As far as how Melissa is holding up, the insider also revealed that Joan's daughter is staying strong during this difficult time.

"She is a rock. She is calmer than I've ever seen her," they explained. "All these reports about doomsday are not true, She is her mother's daughter and she's tough as nails. She's the person keeping everyone together."
