Margot Robbie 'Ghost In The Shell' Movie - Anime & Manga Adaptation Enlists Sexy 'Wolf Of Wall Street' Starlet For Leading Role In Rupert Sanders Film?
As of this week, director Rupert Sanders could have his leading lady for the movie adaption of the popular anime and mange series Ghost in the Shell. Reports claim Wolf of Wall Street starlet Morgot Robbie is in early talks for this film, with many reports speculating that she could be up for the leading role of Motoko Kusanagi. For those familiar with this series, every sentence preceding this one should be incredibly exciting.
Fans could be hesitant about a live-action movie adaptation of Ghost in the Shell, but with Robbie on board naysayers might start holding their tongues. Plus Sanders' Snow White and the Huntsman was so visually pleasing that we can't wait to see what he does with this next project.
Slash Film sums up the plot of Ghost in the Shell pretty well with this excerpt:
Presumably Robbie will end up playing a version of Motoko Kusanagi, the character who is assigned to track and capture a hacker known as the Puppeteer. This hacker isn't just stealing data, passwords and photos, however. The puppeteer (or the Puppet Master, depending on the version and translation) hacks cybernetic brain implants that connect many citizens to extensive networks. In some cases, the cybernetic brain modules allow for near-full replacement of human biology with cybernetic gear, with little more than the brain core that carries the "ghost," or soul, remaining intact.
