Real Housewives of New York Ramona Singer Demoted to Recurring Role
Much like the Housewives themselves, Bravo has been making a few nips and tucks for season 7 of the Real Housewives of New York. It looks as though Ramona Singer has been caught in the cross fire and has been demoted to a recurring role.
Singer, 57, is a RHONY season veteran, having been on the show since the first season in 2008. Singer is known on the show for her quick-tongued, no-nonsense attitude. So it was a shock to fans that the network decided to go ahead on season 7 without Singer as a permanent cast member.
This can't seem to come at a worse time for the reality star. Last season we saw her struggle while sending her daughter Avery off to college. To make matters worse, last month the reality star ended her 22-year marriage to Mario Singer. She told People, "I tried to make my marriage work because I have strong values and I believe that people make mistakes," she said. "But you reach a point where you realize the other person isn't putting in as much effort as you are. And I reached my breaking point."
Mario Singer was seen days after the announcement of his split with his alleged girlfriend Kyle "Kasey" Dexter. The two looked "very flirty" at the Women's Health Under the Stars party in Bridgehampton, New York, sources tell People.
An insider tells Us Weekly, "Bravo is casting the show [season 7] around Heather Thomson and Kristen Taekman and Carole Radziwill. [When] Ramona carried the show, that is why ratings plummeted, they think."
But Aviva Drescher has it worse as she as been fired from the show completely, with no recurring role.
We must say that we are sad to see them go, however we are anticipating who the new cast member may be!
