The Ohio State Buckeyes will go in to their second game without Braxton Miller, hoping that J.T. Barrett can find a way to carry on his good form, and find the plays needed to beat Virginia Tech. The Buckeyes started slow against Navy last week, but late heroics ensured they started the season with the victory, and they'll be hoping a good win against Virginia Tech can push them higher than their No. 8 ranking.
Barrett believes he has to improve. He explains: "After the interception, I was, like, 'J.T., you know you shouldn't have thrown it, but you still threw it and now you've got make up for it,''' However, coach Urban Meyer isn't as worried. He explained: "I'm just trying to think of the mistakes he made. He's just not the dynamic guy. I wouldn't mind, when he decides to run, to really go. But he played pretty well.'"
The Hokies have lost six of their last seven games against ranked opponents, so any are wondering if they can perform when all eyes are once again on them. The Buckeyes are far from their fluent best, but they are predicted to beat the Hokies. Could they spring a surprise so early in the season? The Buckeyes will need to make an impressive start if they're to avoid the same mistakes they made against Navy. Any invite they give to the Hokies, and they may well regret letting them get in to the game.
