'Real Housewives of New Jersey' Teresa Giudice Sentencing Postponed Until October- 'RHONY' Star Date Moved For The Second Time
It looks like The Real Housewives Of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice and her husband Joe Giudice have hit another snag in their legal proceedings. The RHONY stars, who were suppose to find out the terms of their sentencing on September 23, now won't learn their fate until October 2.
According to NJ.com, the reality stars sentencing has been delayed a second time after pushing the date from July to September so that the Giudice's could mourn the loss of Joe's father and Teresa's father-in-law Frank Giudice.
Esther Salas, the U.S. District Judge who is proceeding over the case, had her office postpone the sentencing yet again. The NJ US Attorney did take to their Twitter account to confirm the move.
"Court rescheduled sentencing of #RHONJ stars Joe and @Teresa_Giudice for Oct. 2 at 10:30 am.
The reason for this move, according to WebProNews states that the court is waiting for more information regarding the case. "[Sentencings] get postponed so that everybody involved can be fully prepared."
Teresa and Joe have been charged with 41 different counts of bankruptcy, bank and mortgage fraud in addition to other supposed crimes. Both reality stars are looking at jail time, where Joe could receive 37 to 46 month and could also face deportation back to Italy. Teresa on the other hand could possibly receive 27 months in prison but her lawyers are hoping that she will just receive probation.
During last night episode of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, footage was shown of the couple accepting their plea deal.
