'Ghostbusters 3' Cast- Bill Murray Wants Kristen Wiig, Emma Stone & Melissa McCarthy For All Female Reboot
"Who you gonna call? Ghostbusters!!" Bill Murray, star of the first two films in the Ghostbusters franchise, has revealed who he thinks should star in a possible third film - and he wants it to be an all female cast. The star explained that he wants funny ladies Emma Stone, Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, and Linda Cardellini to play the leads should a new movie about busting ghosts be made.
Access Hollywood caught up with Bill Murray at the Toronto International Film Festival over the weekend and he explained what a good idea the all female cast would be and he also gave a rundown of his ideal cast.
"It sounds good to me. It sounds as good an idea as any other!" The actor explained. "There are a lot of women that could scare off any kind of vapor! No, it's a grand idea, I don't know who they're talking about but it's a good idea, I would watch it!"
As far as his ideal cast he explains that Cardellini, McCarthy, Stone and Wiig would make the perfect costars.
"Melissa would be a spectacular Ghosbuster. And Kristen Wiig is so funny- God, she's funny!" Murray explained. "I like this girl Linda Cardellini a lot. And Emma Stone is funny. There are funny girls out there."
And it doesn't seem to farfetched to get Kristen and Melissa onboard for the project, as their Bridesmaids director Paul Feig has been attached to direct the reboot.
The idea for an all female cast isn't too out there either, as IDW Publishing has continued the Ghostbusters story in a comic series revolving around a female cast.
