'Minority Report' TV Show Is Sequel To Tom Cruise Movie - Fox Making Female-Led Series Based On Steven Spielberg Sci-Fi Film
Steven Spielberg's 2002 Sci-Fi movie Minority Report is getting a TV series adaptation, but will actually serve as a sequel to the film. In fact, the new show will feature a female lead. Tom Cruise and Colin Farrell originally starred in the blockbuster movie, so having an actress take add to the story will definitely be a crowd-pleasing feature of the show. Should we start some casting rumors now?
The Hollywood Reporter broke this story. Here is an excerpt from the original article:
The Minority Report follow-up takes place 10 years after the end of Precrime in D.C., when one of the three Precogs struggles to lead a "normal" human life, but remains haunted by visions of the future. He meets a detective haunted by her past who just may help him find a purpose to his gift.
Thinking back to the positively reviewed Minority Report movie, exploring this world on a weekly basis is reason enough to tune in. Spielberg is expected to be involved as a producer, so that's promising. Hopefully it stands out from other series that are tackling similar topics - namely Person of Interest.
