Anthony Joshua, Konstantin Airich & Wladimir Klitschko: Top Heavyweight Prospect Trains With The World Champion & Knocks Opponent Out
Anthony Joshua is making quite an impression. In his first seven fights he wasn't taken past the second round, however, Konstantin Airich took AJ to the third round, but still suffered the same fate, getting knocked out. Joshua is tipped to become the heavyweight champion one day, but for now it seems he's happy to train with one. The British boxer has recently been sparring with Wladimir Klitschko, and it seems he's learning everything he can, hoping he can one day emulate his success. Perhaps it's coming sooner than many imagined.
Joshua has had eight professional fights, and nobody has got near him. He's never looked like getting himself in to trouble in the ring. Can anybody stop the talented heavyweight prospect? Joshua told Sky Sports how he felt: "I'm just taking my time with things, picking shots. I'm enjoying it, getting experience at this level. There's no point rushing it and doing the same old thing as four or five months ago. I wanted to go eight rounds, to be honest with you. Some shots I hit him with, some opponents would've gone out in the second round, but he stood up. It's only a matter of time when you get caught with those, I caught him with a peach."
Joshua credits the world champion for his recent improvement: "The champ's [Klitschko] in a league of his own. He told me he had ups and downs and got them right, it's not always a smooth road. It was good experience for me and got me in good shape for this fight. There's a lot of work to be put in and I'm trying to progress at a good pace. At the same time I know there's a big gap to fill. Oct.11 will be a great show, going back to London. It's another stepping stone."
Could Anthony Joshua become the heavyweight champion? Just how good can he be, especially using Klitschko's valuable experience as an aid?
