Fox's 'Sleepy Hollow' Gets Marguerite Bennett, Jorge Coelho Comic Treatment From BOOM! Studios!
With the second season of Fox's popular supernatural/police procedural series, Sleepy Hollow, coming up, get ready to for the must-read comic book treatment by BOOM! Studios. Writer Marguerite Bennett (Batman: Joker's Daughter) and artist Jorge Coelho (Polarity) will continue the adventures of Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) and Lt. Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie) in their tie-in miniseries.
For anyone who has seen the TV show, audiences know this is a modern re-imaginative take on the short story by author Washington Irving. Ichabod isn't the cowardly weakling with a huge nose on his face. But the headless horseman is still searching for his lost head in the not-so sleepy town.
After dying in the midst of battle during the Revolutionary War, solider Ichabod (Mison) awakes in the present-day Sleepy Hollow, New York. His sudden resurrection is connected to the reappearance of the Headless Horseman, who happens to be one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. To prevent the end of the world, Crane teams up with Mills (Beharie) to stop the Horseman's evil reign of terror.
In the first story arc, minor miracles start sweeping across the quiet town. But when these miracles start to backfire, becoming more and more violent, Abbie and Ichabod have to save the citizens of Sleepy Hollow before it's too late.
As an added bonus, each issue will feature a short back-up story written and illustrated by Noelle Stevenson (Lumberjanes). The first issue will also have a main cover by Phil Noto (Black Widow). To find out more about the Sleepy Hollow comic, head on over to their official Tumblr.
