Lamb of God's Randy Blythe Released from Czech Jail
After lying in a Czech jail for 38 days for manslaughter charges, Lamb of God's front man Randy Blythe is finally allowed to return home to the U.S.
According to the Czech news site blesk.cz, at approximately 1 p.m. CET on Thursday Blythe was seen boarding a direct flight from Prague to the U.S.A.
Blythe was charged with manslaughter in regards to a Lamb of God show at Prague's Club Abaton back in 2010. His supposed "onstage negligence" - pushing a stage-diver who attempted to climb onstage three times back into the audience -may have led to a fan's death 14 days after following the show. The fan, "Daniel N," reportedly suffered a brain hemorrhage from the fall Blythe was arrested at Prague's airport on June 27 under such allegations.
According to Lamb of God's manager Larry Mazer, Blythe was completely unaware of the fan's death in the two years following the concert.
For over a month Czech prosecutors repeatedly challenged Blythe's bail. With help from a legal support fund set up by his band mates, the "Sacrament" singer paid a second bail set by the court at $400,000 in late July, but was not released until August 3.
According to a spokeswoman for Prague's Municipal Court Martina Lhotáková, "The decision was reached yesterday at the end of a closed session. The only condition of release was the approximately 8 million Czech Koruna bail [which has already been paid]."
Blesk.cz reports Blythe as looking "thin" and "very tired," and wearing the same clothes he had on when incarcerated.
Blythe's attorney Martin Radvan insists that Blythe plans on returning to Czech Repulbic to stand trial. Blabbermouth quotes Radvan stating, "As a world-renowned artist, in a specific genre of music, of course, he cannot afford to simply disappear. If he wants to continue performing, he will have to return. And he wants to return because he believes he is not guilty of anything he has been charged with."
