'Tusk' Release Date, Featurette [VIDEO] Kevin Smith Explains How Horror Movie Developed From Podcast, Twitter, & Comic-Con

Kevin Smith's new movie, Tusk, is a strange mix of horror, comedy and podcasting. Fans of the Red State director probably already know the story behind the new film (hitting theaters this weekend), but a new featurette released this week shows how it all came together and mainly how it all started on Kevin's podcast!

The plot of Tusk came to Smith when, during one of his podcasts, he was told about a creepy online post of a lonely man trying to find someone to live in his home, but also wear a walrus costume from time to time. As he explains in the featurette video, his filmmaking mind immediately thought "this is a horror movie." From there, he took his idea to Twitter, asking fans to support or defy his idea by voting "#WalrusYes" or "#WalrusNo."

As we all know, his fans supported him and he decided to make the film. Tusk is a unique film, not only because of it's plot, but because it was truly created in such a funny way. It came together thanks to fans, and we get to see what we've all made this weekend!
