Robin Van Persie, Radamel Falcao, Wayne Rooney, Daley Blind, Louis Van Gaal & Angel Di Maria Fall Short In Manchester United's Premier League Clash Against Leicester City

After Manchester United's emphatic victory over QPR, they were hoping for more of the same against Leicester City, and despite a terrific start, they lost in stunning fashion. The Red Devils stormed to an early 2-0 lead, but ended up losing 5-3. Robin Van Persie, Radamel Falcao, Wayne Rooney, Daley Blind, Louis Van Gaal and Angel Di Maria couldn't save United from the Premier League new boys.

Goals from Van Persie and Di Maria set the tone early, but a second half penalty double ensured the Red Devils lost their way, and in turn lost 5-3. Van Gaal played an attacking team, hoping to hide their weak back-four, but as many predicted, they scored a lot, but conceded more. Many believe this will be the normality each and every week for this new-look side.

United were angry as City's first penalty was debatable, and arguably changed the game, giving City a way back in to the game. United had a great start, but showed signs of weakness, proving that Van Gaal will need "months" to fix things, as he's previously mentioned on several occasions. If the club can fix their defense, it's evident that the signings of Di Maria and Falcao will ensure they win many games, however, the club are likely already regretting their lack of defensive investment.

Can United win many games with this attacking approach, and will they regret their lack of defensive buys? There's a long way to go, but at least United showed aspects of promise, giving them reason to hope a brighter future is in store.
