The Grey's Anatomy gang is back and we couldn't be happier about it. It has been torture waiting for Meredith (Ellen Pompeo), Derek (Patrick Dempsey), and the rest of the gang to grace our TV screens again, but we will forgive them because tonight's episode was definitely worth the wait, so lets dive right in.

While we are still mourning the departure of Cristina Yang from the series, it looks like everyone else is too. Meredith is trying to find a new "person" and Owen is trying to deal with the love of his life moving across the world.

While Meredith is using Alex as a second-rate replacement for Yang, Avery and the other guys are trying to get Owen out of his funk by inviting him out for guys nights and game nights.

Things turn harsh between Meredith and her newly discovered half-sister Maggie Pierece, a detail that Mer is still unaware of. The two face off in the OR over a patient, and before Grey can learn that the new heart surgeon is family, Pierce shuts the door on wanting to get to know her.

Derek's tough discussion on whether to stay in Seattle or leave for a position in Washington, D.C. is echoed through his interaction with his patient, who got separated from his family while in the desert. He tells Derek that the only thing that got him through the rough days is knowing he would be able to see his family's smiling faces. Could this conversation been enough to make Derek change his mind and stay with Mer?

Callie and Arizona are dealing with trying to have another baby. Which shows, through their interactions with a couple who almost died when a gurney fell on them while having sex in the hospitals parking lot, that it's totally plausible, right? While talking to the mom of one of the patients, Callie realizes that all of her worries about having another kid are silly and that parents can try there hardest to keep their kids safe but at the end of the day things are going to happen, and you have to deal with them.

Callie decides despite all that she wants to have a kid, realizing that she wants to take the risk. However, it doesn't seem like Arizona is so set on the idea, telling Callie she is going to go back to school for a fellowship, not giving her much time to devote to a new baby.

April is still dealing with and getting used to the idea of being pregnant but when a patient comes in who fell off the roof while trying to retrieve his son's Frisbee, she starts to think about all the things that will change once she has her baby.

At the end of the episode, Alex agrees to be Mer's new person, despite Jo's disapproval, Derek decides that he doesn't want to move to D.C. and be without Meredith and his kids, and Mer and her half-sister both decide to get drunk off tequila. Looks like alcohol preferences run in the family.
