Tensions seem at their highest in the 6th episode of Cinemax's The Knick. We've dealt with the racial issues before, but after a cop gets stabbed by a black man, it looks like downtown New York City is about to see a war. Will Thackery's newfound respect for Edwards play any part in these events? From the looks of the preview photos and videos we have for you below, we could be seeing a new version of John when we most need him. (SPOILERS to follow)

Check out our episode 6 recap here!

Unfortunately for fans of the entrepreneur police officer Sears, it looks like he was the stabbing victim. Knowing what he does on the side of his police work, we can probably assume he had it coming ... but we love him anyway! Get well soon Phinny!

From the looks of the following preview clip, Thackery has indeed turned a new leaf and doesn't care about race when it comes to the injured. Plenty of black people need medical attention this week, and a lot of our favorite characters are willing to help:

Yes, even our favorite abortion scheme duo gets involved!

It looks like Edwards' underground hospital is needed for shelter this week, forcing Barrow, Gallinger, Birtie, Cornelia and pretty much everybody else down into the cellar. As you can imagine, Barrow gets pretty mad, Cornelia admires Algernon, Thackery is pretty smug about it and Gallinger is as lost as ever!

Watch a clip of this right here:

Considering the subject material and the title of the episode, we should be in for a thrilling show this week.

Tune in tomorrow night on Cinemax at 10pm EST for "Get The Rope."
