The Bill & Ted franchise has turned out two hilarious films so far and actor Alex Winter, who played Bill S. Preston, promises the third installment will be just as funny. Alex played opposite Keanu Reeves' character Ted "Theodore" Logan in the first two films.

Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure hit theaters in 1989 and the sequel; Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey hit theaters in 1991. More than 20 years later, Bill & Ted 3 is in the works and it is going to be good.

"[Bill & Ted] will be 40-something and it's all about Bill and Ted grown up, or not grown up. It's really sweet and really f--ing funny," Alex told Yahoo! Movies about the upcoming film.

"But it's a Bill & Ted movie, that's what it is. It's for the fans of Bill & Ted. It fits very neatly in the [series]. It's not going to feel like a reboot," he explained. "The concept is really funny: What if you're middle-aged, haven't really grown up and you're supposed to have saved the world and maybe, just maybe, you kinda haven't?"

The third installment will also star Keanu, who plays Ted, Bill's best friend and partner in crime. Alex revealed that there is already a script, but the film is still in its early stages. They are definitely working on it little by little, but it will be a while before the third film makes its way to the theaters.

"There's many versions of ourselves in this movie. [It's] answering the question: 'What happened to these guys?' They're supposed to have done all this stuff, they weren't the brightest bulbs on the tree, what happened 20 years later? To answer that question in a comedic way felt rich with possibility," he told the publication.

Dude, we can't wait to see what they two do together after being apart for more than 20 years. Will there be any time traveling involved? What jobs do they have? Will they still have killer '90s style? And how many times will they day "dude?"
