'Captain America' #25: Rick Remender & Carlos Pacheco Present Sam Wilson's The Falcon As New Marvel Hero!
In an epic oversized edition, Marvel Comics presents the action-packed conclusion of Captain America #25! Writer Rick Remender and artist Carlos Pacheco have a few tricks up their sleeves as they bring the saga of Dimension Z to a close, giving rise to the "All-New Captain America."
As we mentioned here, The Falcon will pick up Cap's shield after Steve Rogers is no longer able to serve duty. The announcement was made on The Colbert Report with host Stephen Colbert. Though suggestions were made, Marvel Comics' Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada stated in front of a live crowd who was going to wear the red, white and blue costume.
In the photos, we notice that Steve has become an old man, too tired and weak to keep on fighting. With his powers stripped away, there is no one else who can help him. To stand for the nation's symbolic flag, someone new has to pick up the mantle before it's too late to save anyone.
Before All-New Captain America #1 hits stores, Rogers has one last mission to finish before officially retiring the shield. A broken man, Steve has been drained of his super-soldier serum. The ex-Captain America joins his fellow allies to make a last stand against their common enemy. Be there when the new Sentinel of Liberty picks up the shield.
After many years of fighting in battle, what will Steve Rogers do now that he is just a civilian? Will he still be considered as part of the Avengers? Hopefully this upcoming issue will answer many questions.
The special-sized Captain America #25 will hit stores everywhere on Oct. 1. Readers, are you excited to meet the new Captain America?
