Supernatural Season 10 Spoilers: Show Casting Female Character

The CW's Supernatural is one of the most popular shows on the network and has cultivated a loyal and energetic fan base. But one of the criticisms of the show is the lack of female characters. Those that do stick around for a while typically meet a grizzly end sooner rather than later. But will that change in Season 10?

The "Spoiler Chat" column at E! Online reports the following about a new female character whom we likely have met in the past.

"Rachel: What's the word on any female characters on Supernatural this season?
While females generally don't have the longest life span on this CW fan-favorite series, the show is currently casting the role of Claire Novak, a 17-year-old tough, angry teenager described as 'punk-rock-pretty.' Claire is sarcastic, smart and defiant because of her rough past: she has bounced from foster home to foster home since the death of her father and the disappearance of her mother (we're guessing from supernatural forces?). Even though Claire is always in trouble, underneath it all she has a big heart. Let's hope that heart makes her a survivor!"

Unless it's a different character, Claire Novak is the daughter of Jimmy Novak, Castiel's vessel. When we last saw her back in Season 4, Castiel had once again taken over Jimmy's body and we saw Claire and her mother, Amelia, looking on in shock. The above description fits the character, as well. Her father is gone, and the show could easily say her mother disappeared.
