For its season 10 premiere, Bones came back to FOX with a shocking demise. In the aftermath of Lance Sweets (John Francis Daley)' death, a casualty of the McNamara conspiracy, will Booth (David Boreanaz) be able to keep it together and help Brennan (Emily Deschanel) avenge his friends' murder?

At the end of season 9, Seeley Booth (Boreanaz) was framed for the alleged murder of three FBI agents. Those special agents were actually trained assassins ordered to kill him. As we mentioned here, Sweets died while trying to find the evidence that would clear Booth's name. His two closet friends knelt beside him and helplessly watched as he died in their arms.

In the footage, we see Booth and Brennan (Deschanel) getting nowhere with their frantic calls. As soon as Booth slams his cell down, the special agent confesses it's his fault that Sweets is dead. Struggling with his heartbreak, Booth blames himself, knowing he shouldn't served the warrant, not Lance.

Brennan does her best to console her partner, "We's going to find out what happened, who's behind all this. We're going to do that for Sweets."

But the pair isn't prepared for what happens next. Their daughter, Christine, is dressed and ready for "Uncle Sweets" to take her to the park. The little girl doesn't know her favorite uncle won't be coming to pick her up. Notice the tears in Booth's eyes as he watches Brennan explain to a little girl about death.

In an interview with E! online, executive producer Stephen Nathan explains, "The entire situation for us was very, very painful and we tried to treat it with as much respect and truth as we possibly could."
