Carl Froch, George Groves, James DeGale & Julio Cesar Chavez Jr: IBF/WBA Super Middleweight Champion Assesses Options Before Retirement

IBF/WBA super middleweight champion Carl Froch has achieved a lot in his boxing career, so it's understandable that he needs motivation for his final fights before retirement. Time after time he has proven the world wrong, but now as he makes the world wait, everyone can only wonder, who will he fight next? He's believed to favour a fight in Las Vegas against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, yet both British boxers George Groves and James DeGale present him with high-earning potential. However, it seems the world champion boxer would put personal glory over money as he reaches the end of his career.

Froch explained, "I'm trying to hang in for Las Vegas. It's the fight capital of the world and many of my heroes have boxed there. I have not ever been there to fight, but it would tick a massive box in my wonderful career."

Will he get his way? If he can't fight JCC there, would he take a lesser opponent, or would he look for another big domestic world title fight?

Froch's last two fights were against Groves, and he won both of them. The second fight sold out at Wembley Stadium, and they could easily do just that again. Groves has insisted he would love one more chance to beat Froch, but would the champion have any motivation to train, knowing he could walk away having already beaten him twice? Then again, money talks.

Froch will continue to make the world wait, but then again, that's because he's at an odd stage of his career, and it's quite possible that he has no idea what he wants, needs and if he can get it. Once Froch knows, the world knows, but it looks like any fight he makes will be an absolute boxing classic.
