WWE Rumors: When Will Brock Lesnar Return to WWE Television?
In case you haven't heard Paul Heyman mention it in a while, Brock Lesnar is the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. He decimated John Cena for the title at SummerSlam and then retained at Night of Champions, which was the last time we saw The Beast Incarnate. So when is he coming back?
The latest reports say Lesnar is not scheduled to work any more shows for the rest of the calendar year, which would mean the champion would not be back on WWE television until 2015. The rumor is the company is now approaching its product differently thanks to the WWE Network. When fans had to pay $60 for a pay-per-view, there was pressure to defend the main title at every pay-per-view. But now, the Network removes some of that pressure, which means Lesnar can stay off screen for weeks or even months at a time.
Lesnar, therefore, would not work at Hell in a Cell later this month. Last week, Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that the current creative plan is for John Cena to face Dean Ambrose in the opening match of the pay-per-view. The winner would go on to face Seth Rollins inside the Hell in a Cell, while the loser would take on Randy Orton inside the steel structure.
Do you think Lesnar will be back at any time in 2014, or will fans have to wait until the new year to see The Beast Incarnate? Is it a good idea for WWE to keep its champion off television for so long? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
