Jessica Sanchez Tweets Prayer for the Victims of Philippines Monsoon
Jessica Sanchez paid tribute on Twitter to her mother's homeland when she found out that a massive monsoon had hit the Philippines island.
"My prayers are out there for everyone on the Philippines :(" tweeted the American Idol runner up.
Sanchez comes from a Filipina-Mexican-American background with her father being a Mexican American who has faithfully served in the US Navy, and her mother a Filipina-American who grew up in America.
Sanchez is busy touring with her Idol family throughout the US and will be heading to the island in the last leg of the tour. It will be her first trip ever to the Philippines.
With a huge following in the Philippines, Sanchez kept her island fans in mind by tweeting the prayer.
A fan by the name of Christian Maldonado wrote, "Jessica the sun starts to shine! Your prayers really work! Thank you!"
Alison Angeles tweeted back to Sanchez, "Thanks Jay for your care. God bless :)"
