Five Spoilers From ‘The Originals’ To Get Ready For Tonight’s Season Two Premiere

Season 2 of The Originals premieres tonight, and there's a lot to know before watching the new season on The CW. Last season left off with Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Elijah (Daniel Gillies) discovering that their mother, father and brother have all been resurrected. This season will be darker and more intense then the last, so here's what you need to know:

1. Klaus is ready for revenge.

Klaus took a break from plotting his revenge to paint this summer, which was calming for him, but now he's ready for revenge.

"There's been a lot of stalking the halls of the compound and a lot of plotting bloody revenge," Joseph told TV Guide. "But we pick up just when things are coming to a head and the time to act is approaching. He turned to painting to express himself [and] as a method of control, but I'm sure he'll return to his other art form."

2. Rebekah is back.

Rebekah Mikaelson is coming back to The Originals sooner than expected, and she'll be seen throughout Season 2.

"We'll be seeing her before the holidays. In fact, we'll be seeing her for the holidays. The midseason cliffhanger will have a little dose of Rebekah," The Originals creator Julie Plec told E! Online.

Plus, since Rebekah is holding onto Hayley and Klaus's daughter Hope, it is only a matter of time until they are all reunited.

3. Hayley is hiding her feelings for Elijah.

Hayley has always had feelings for Elijah, but since she became a hybrid, she has shut herself off from him. Next season, she will battle with letting anyone in because of how much she has already lost, plus her relationship with Klaus continues to complicate her possible relationship with Elijah.

"It's sad, because they obviously care about each other very much, but now that Hayley's a hybrid, she's petrified that Elijah won't respect her or try to be in love with her the way he did when she was just a gypsy werewolf girl," Phoebe Tonkin, who plays Hayley, told TV Line.

"She doesn't want to get hurt again, and it's not that she's ashamed, but she's very confused about her identity," she said. "She's angry, resentful and hostile about the fact that she's now a hybrid. I don't think she wants to include Elijah in that anger she's feeling right now."

4. There will be an intense family reunion.

As Esther comes back into Klaus and Elijah's lives, there will be some serious anger and hatred coming with them.

"There's going to be some resentments, some hate, some long, dusted-off nostalgia, and a deep-rooted concern, if not completely misplaced concern, for the fate of their children. And as we've seen, often for them, fixing the problem means eliminating it," Julie told Entertainment Weekly about Esther's first encounter with her husband in present day.

Esther isn't the only family member who's holding a grudge.

"Being a parent in the face that everything he is and finding that love in himself for his child only strengthens his anger and frustration with his parents for not being there for him," Joseph told TV Guide about his character's reunion with his parents.

5. Hayley and Klaus are partners in parenting.

Hayley and Klaus sent their daughter Hope with Rebekah last season, but that has only brought them closer together. Now that Hayley has been reborn as a hybrid, she is more dependent on Klaus for his guidance and support.

"They can be honest with each other. They do come up against each other, but at the end of the day, they both want their daughter to come back to two parents that don't completely hate each other, and so they bond over their daughter and the hope that they can see her again," Phoebe told Entertainment Weekly.

"He definitely tries to guide her, although as we know Klaus is not the best mentor for Hayley to have. But it's a nice dynamic to watch as the two of them as dark, lost people ban together because they both just want to make a safe home for their child to return," Phoebe explained to TV Guide.
