'Say Anything' NBC TV Series Cancelled? Cameron Crowe, John Cusack Angry At Show Adaptation, Network Stops Development After Director's Disapproval?
Just this week we learned that NBC was developing a new TV series based on Cameron Crowe's iconic 1989 romantic comedy Say Anything, based on the same characters originally played by John Cusack and Ione Skye. Unfortunately, this was news to the writer/director, who was receiving plenty of questions from fans on Twitter, so he responded with a clear statement of disapproval. Though the network doesn't need his "go-ahead" for the project, it looks like NBC is stepping away from this project due to Crowe's statement.

After these Twitter developments, it looks like NBC is cancelling the project, or at least taking a huge step away from it. The network definitely didn't need Crowe's approval to make the Say Anything TV series, but it's nice to see NBC respecting the director. Perhaps the network was thinking about disappointed fans and viewers not tuning in without the consent of Crowe, though. Either way, we probably won't see this series come to fruition.
