'Bill & Ted 3' Release Date Rumors, Plot Update - Keanu Reeves Talks Story, Says Movie Is "Closer, But No Closer" To Getting Made

Bill & Ted 3 is looking like it could come together, with a release date announced sometime soon, but a new interview with star Keanu Reeves revealed that the project is pretty stagnant. In a new interview with IGN, Reeves said that the movie is "closer, but no closer" to getting made. What exactly did he mean by this statement?

"We're closer, but no closer. It's really amazing how that can work. We're like closer to the dough, but not closer. We're closer to the script but we're not closer. We're closer, but we're not closer," Reeves told IGN. "But we're still trying to get close to be... there."

So it seems like this movie is still in the development stages, but possibly moved past the "early development" stages.

Whether or not we think the film is close or not close to being made, Reeves does outline the plot of the movie pretty well.

"They had the obligation. The challenge. The responsibility," he said of the new Bill & Ted movie. "The burden of finding this song that was going to bring peace and harmony to the world. They've lost sight of their family and relationships with their children and their wives and the rest of their lives. They're in danger of losing everything because of this responsibility that they feel. They can't write the song."
