'Death of Wolverine: The Logan Legacy' #1: Charles Soule, Oliver Nome Present X-23, Sabretooth Together!
Taking place right after the ashes of Death of Wolverine, Marvel Comics presents our very first look at the Death Of Wolverine: The Logan Legacy #1. Writer Charles Soule and artist Oliver Nome set the stage for a world without the X-Men mutant superhero, exploring the lives of X-23, Sabretooth, Daken, Lady Deathstrike, and Mystique.
This is the first installment of a blockbuster limited series. In the seven-issue story arc, the narrative explores the gaping hole left in the Marvel Universe. As we mentioned previously, the death of Wolverine will be felt by everyone closest to Logan and those who fiercely hated him. Everyone will have something to say about this memorable comic book event.
In an interview with Marvel, Soule explains how the narrative dives deep into the themes of mourning and closure, "Think of the death of Wolverine as an inciting event, one thing that has seismic-level effects on the lives of a great deal of the Marvel Universe. We'll start in Death of Wolverine: The Logan Legacy by examining those effects on people close to Wolverine, but over time, we'll range far and wide to see what sort of black hole Logan's death actually leaves."
Now that the mutant powerhouse is out of the picture, who will be left to pick up the pieces? Will Wolverine's legacy dictated by the heroes who bravely fought alongside him? Or by the villains who he spent his entire life fighting against? The answers will soon be revealed in the first installment.
We previously spotlighted artist Skottie Young, who has illustrated a variant cover here. Young is known for drawing the Marvel characters as cute and cuddly babies. In this cover, we see baby Sabretooth and Mystique pulling at Wolverine's costume with Daken and X-23.
Death Of Wolverine: The Logan Legacy #1 will be released in stores on October 15. Readers, are you excited to see a world without Wolverine?
