Edinson Cavani, Arturo Vidal: Arsenal & Manchester United Complete Elite English Premier League Transfers
The English Premier League is set to welcome two of the biggest soccer stars the world has ever known. Edinson Cavani and Arturo Vidal, will leave PSG and Juventus, joining Arsenal and Manchester United. Cavani, is considered one of the game's greatest strikers, while Vidal is seen as the perfect box-to-box midfield player. The pair will cost a combined $140 million, and the transfers should see the EPL duo edge closer to title rivals Manchester City and Chelsea. Will any club top these deals in January?
Arsenal has been critized for a 'lack of firepower', and despite bringing in some strikers in recent months, it seems the board is prepared to use some of its many millions to lure one of the greatest strikers in the game to England. Wherever Cavani has gone he has scored a ton of goals, however, at PSG he is not the star and he has always fancied testing himself in the EPL. It's believed the only stumbling block there has been are his astronomical $450,000 per week wages. Arsenal know they're close to greatness, and it seems they're finally willing to pay the price it takes to be a success.
United, however, is happy with its firepower, but the team believes they're in need of a central midfield player that can do everything. Vidal provides them with just that. The Red Devils chased his services all summer long, but Juventus refused to sell, however, it's believed they have had a change of heart, and that they're willing to do business in January, but only if they receive a 'huge fee'.
Cavani will cost around $80 million, while Vidal will cost around $60 million. Does this represent good business for the two clubs who desperately want to once again battle for the title with Man City and Chelsea?
