It's finally that time of year - hockey season!

The Pittsburgh Penguins battle it out on the ice against the Anaheim Ducks in Game 1 of each team series on Thursday, October 9 at 7:00 p.m. EST at Pennsylvania's CONSOL Energy Center. Read on to see where fans can watch and listen to a live stream of the "Opening Week" hockey game online and catch up-to-date feeds and coverage on highlight plays and scores.

Heading into the 2014 regular season, the Penguins snag the No. 7 spot in ESPN.com's official NHL power rankings:

"Mysterious training camp injury to Evgeni Malkin is troubling, but in spite of wholesale changes, the Pens are still a talented, well-structured team. Is this the end of the line for netminder Marc-Andre Fleury in Pittsburgh?"

Meanwhile, the Ducks currently hold the No. 3 spot (out of 30 total teams):

"Can the kids in goal, Frederik Andersen and John Gibson, get the job done? We think so and, in fact, have the Ducks as our preseason Cup pick."

The game will be broadcasted live on local channels PT25 and ROOT, but fans can also listen in on the radio at 105.9 The X, WNIO, and KLAA.
