NYCC 2014: Chris Carter, Joe Harris Relaunch 'Millienium' & Lance Henriksen's Frank Black At IDW Publishing!
During the New York Comic-Con 2014, another popular TV series from The X-Files creator, Chris Carter, is about to hit the comic book page. IDW Publishing, along with writer Joe Harris, has announced the Millennium comic book series, which brings back Lance Henriksen's Frank Black from retirement.
In the Millennium TV series, ex-FBI profiler Frank Black (Henriksen) moves to Seattle to consult for the private law enforcement group, the Millennium Group. Using his mental skills of empathy, Frank senses what he knows about the serial killer's motives and sexual history. While solving those cases, the Millennium Group was involved in bringing about the apocalypse.
In our previous interview with The X-Files: Season 10 scribe, Harris discussed how Carter serves as the executive producer on the comic book series. Season 10 continues the supernatural/paranormal cases investigated by Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. We are still anxious about the one-shot special starring Walter Skinner.
In an interview with Comic Book Resources, the Great Pacific writer explains what the comic book will delve into, "We'll learn that this catastrophic 'Millennium Event' everyone was counting down toward during the show did, in fact, take place at the turn of the new century. It's just been simmering in the background, f*cking with the world and steering it toward the apocalypse all along. Now it's gathering steam, and only Frank can stop it."
The comic book adaption will have artists Colin Lorimer and Menton3 involved in the artwork. From what we can tell from the illustration, Black has aged since we have last seen him in The X-Files/Milennium crossover.
Frank Black will make a guest appearance in the upcoming issue of The X-Files: Season 10 #17, which hits stores on October 22. Readers are you excited to read the Millenium comic book series?
