UPDATE: Former ‘Tonight Show’ Host Jay Leno To Officially Host CNBC Primetime Show Following Conan O’Brien Feud, Jimmy Fallon Replacement [VIDEO]

Just last week, MStars News reported that former Tonight Show host Jay Leno was supposedly signing a deal with CNBC to host a primetime show about cars. Well, now The Hollywood Reporter has announced that the standup is officially getting his own CNBC series, which is titled Jay Leno's Garage – for the moment. Leno was famously replaced back in February by Jimmy Fallon, a couple of years after taking the famed late night seat back following a much talked-about feud with CONAN host Conan O'Brien.

Leno recently released a statement on the new series, saying, "This show will be about anything that rolls, explodes and makes noise. We hope to highlight the passion and the stories behind the men and women who made the automobile the greatest invention of the 20th century."

On having Leno as a part of the CNBC team, the network's president Mark Hoffman said, "Jay will add tremendous star power and exceptional content to CNBC's primetime at the perfect time. CNBC at night has real momentum and Jay's personality, tremendous fan base and his passion for the subject will contribute mightily to our burgeoning primetime. We're really excited Jay will continue his storied career with the NBC family and with us at CNBC."

It's been joked that Leno cannot not be on television, having hosted a show since way back in 1992 after he replaced the ever so famous Tonight Show legend, Johnny Carson. Aside from his standup and Tonight Show fame, the comedian has been a renowned car collector for many, many years. Obviously, it's something CNBC has recognized.
