Amanda Bynes Could Be In Psychiatric Hospital For 1 Year: Get The Details On Her New Involuntary Confinement
Amanda Bynes might have just gotten her involuntary psychiatric hold extended from 72 hours to 14 days, but it looks like the star could be spending even more time in the mental health hospital. New reports are claiming that should the doctors need to, they could obtain an LPS Hold, which would allow them to keep Bynes at the hospital for up to a year.
According to Complex, after the star's most recent antics, doctors are in talks to possibly keep her in their care for a year. But in order to obtain the hold, the facilitating doctors will need to prove to a judge that the former actress is "gravely disabled as a result of a mental disorder or impaired by chronic alcoholism."
TMZ is also reporting on the involuntary confinement, saying that should doctors need to obtain one, they will be able to do so in less than a week once all the initial evaluations on the star are completed.
The site states that the LPS Hold will allow for the medical personnel to administer drugs and restrain Amanda against her will should they need to. It will also allow them to hold her in a hospital or other facility, and her stay can last for up to a year.
This won't be the first LPS Hold against the starlet, as she had one placed on her a year ago after she lit a driveway fire at a neighbor's house in California and also poured gasoline on her dog.
TMZ is also reporting that Amanda is unhappy with her parents for tricking her into get medical treatment. While her parents had a conservatorship earlier this year, the hold is said to be stronger than anything her parents could get.
