Jack And Kate Spade Launch Collaboration With GapKids And It's Unbelievably Cute!

Back in April, Jack and Kate Spade announced they had signed on to partner with GapKids on a limited-edition collection for children, set to hit stores just in time for the holidays. According to the Los Angeles Times, childrenswear will be a new category for the pair of Spades. The women's line, Kate Spade New York, started with handbags in 1993, while the Jack Spade men's brand followed with satchel and carry-alls in 1996. Both brands now include full apparel and accessories collections. This project with GapKids marks the first time both Spade brands have worked on a collaboration together.

The owners of the Spade brands have recently been emphasizing their marquee labels, once Liz Claiborne — later Fifth & Pacific Cos. — shed a stable of brands, including Claiborne and Juicy Couture, and renamed itself Kate Spade & Co. The brand has more than 80 retail shops and outlet stores across the United States, and more than 100 shops internationally.

Their "colorful products" are sold in more than 400 stores worldwide, in "every time zone and on every continent."

The Kate and Jack Spade labels follow in the footsteps of designers like Diane von Furstenberg and Stella McCartney, who have created charming collections for GapKids.

The collection's theme's based on a young brother and sister embarking on a magical holiday adventure to their grandmother's house.

Kate Spade's playful, bright aesthetic comes through in the ballet flats adorned with gift bows, candy-cane-striped tights and sassy message sweatshirts with metallic text.

For the boys, there's gingham, camo and googly eyes. The collection falls at a great price point for holiday gifting, with items ranging from $20 to $130. The collection hits stores and online from Oct. 30 through Nov. 14.
