"We understand that a small group was attacked, and two BVB fans needed to get outpatient treatment," a Borussia Dortmund fan Facebook page stated after the attacks. "The police arrested a handful of offenders, and confiscated one knife and one baton/iron bar. We have so far not received any feedback from other groups."
Istanbul is known for its rowdiness with football matches, so this is sure to be a great game to watch!
But what should we expect to see on the field? According to Dortmund head coach Jürgen Klopp, he expects a lot from his team today.
"A lot of things are being said about our current form - they say that we play badly in the Bundesliga and well in the UEFA Champions League," he said. "What I expect above all from my team is to be solid in defense. We have a lot room for improvement in that sense.
