MStars News has learned that police in Washington State claim that they never abused the August: Osage County actress Misty Upham after she had a number of run-ins with the law in the past year.

According to TMZ, Upham's family claims that the police abused the star, giving her a black eye, and swollen jaw during on run-in incident.

The Auburn Police Department states that there was no kind of mistreatment used against Upham, and says that no complaint was filed from the late actress' family, the local hospital, or the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe.

The police, and Upham's family claimed that Upham suffered from mental illness.

"There have been no mistreatment complaints received by the Auburn Police Department from Ms. Upham, her family, MultiCare Auburn Medical Center, King County Sheriff's Office, Muckleshoot Indian Tribe or elected officials at the City of Auburn," the Auburn department statement said. "It has been inferred that she may have suffered a black eye at the hands of police, but that is not correct. Rather, included in a related written report, Ms. Upham stated that she had sustained a sprained ankle and black eye when she jumped out a two-story window."

According to PEOPLE, the Auburn Police Department released a statement that said, "Since July of 2013, the Auburn Police Department has responded to five separate incidents involving Ms. Upham."

"On four of those incidents, she was contacted by officers and she did not object to being transported by private ambulance for further evaluation. On the 5th incident, Misty had already left the residence and officers were unable to locate her. Each contact was handled professionally and with compassion, with the goal of getting Ms. Upham the attention and care she needed," this statement continued.

Upham was reported missing Oct. 6, where her body was later found last week in a narrow canyon. The actress was only 32.

Police claims, "Officers immediately followed up on all reports of her possible whereabouts." They claim that they made a number of attempts to try to reach Upham, but were not successful.
