'Terminator 5' Plot Details, Rumors - 'Genisys' Using Alternate 'Salvation' Ending? The Twist That Christian Bale's Movie Didn't Use Could End Up In 2015 Film
While most of us want to forget the Christian Bale movie Terminator: Salvation, it looks like an unused alternate ending for the 2009 movie could make its way into the 2015 blockbuster, Terminator: Genisys. Thanks to a number of reports and rumors, the latest Terminator 5 update dropped this week, with some news of a possible twist that was originally thrown out coming back into play in the upcoming movie starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. (SPOILERS to follow)
If you've seen Terminator: Salvation, you probably remember how the film ended with a heart transplant. According to an interview with director McG, that wasn't the original ending that was thought up for the film.
"Connor dies, okay? He's dead," the director said, according to a 2009 interview with InsideMovies. "And Marcus offers his physical body, so Connor's exterior is put on top of his machine body. It looks like Connor, but it's really Marcus underneath. And all of the characters we care about (Kyle Reese, Connor's wife Kate, etc.) are brought into the room to see him and they think it's Connor. And Connor gets up and then there's a small flicker of red in his eyes and he shoots Kate, he shoots Kyle, he shoots everybody in the room. Fade to black. End of movie. Skynet wins. F- you!"
With that in mind, ComicBookMovie.com points out a recent Meet The Movie Press podcast that suggests that this idea could be used in Genisys. You can check out the podcast below:
