'Gotham' Recap: Ben McKenzie's Jim Gordon Meets Donal Logue's Harvey Bullock's Past In "Spirit Of The Goat!"

The Batman prequel, Gotham, continues on Fox with another exciting episode. As more characters from DC Comics make their way onto the TV screen, Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) is about to discover the a dark secret, an unsolved crime, from Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue)'s past in 'Spirit of the Goat.'

In the past, Bullock (Logue) and his partner  arrive at an abandoned warehouse, where the Goat killer has his kidnapped victim. During the fight, Bullock's partner falls into a deadly trap. The Goat says he will come back again before Bullock shoots him down.

In the present, Edward Nygma (Corey Michael Smith) and Bullock are at the murder site, examining the crime scene. Bullock realizes this new murder was committed by a Goat copycat. Nygma hasn't been been able to contact Gordon, who hasn't been answering his cell. 

Gordon (McKenzie) is in the middle of an argument with Barbara (Erin Richards). She wants them to get back together again, but only if Gordon promises to let her in. Barbara then discovers Renee Montoya is going to arrest Gordon because she now has an eyewitness to Oswald's shooting.

Oswald visits his mother, Gertrude (Carol Kane), telling her he is alive. Though she's happy to see him alive, Gertrude is disappointed he waited weeks to tell her. During the mother/son reunion, the detectives visit Dr. Marks (Susan Misner), who is counseling the grieving gamily of the murdered victim. 

The medical examiner discovers an old coin inside the victim's head. Bullock had suppressed evidence because he didn't want fanatics to follow the Goat's M.O. The only other person who knew about the coins was his ex-partner.  

Gordon joins Bullock as he meets his ex-partner at the old folks home. The ex-parter reveals his theory that there's wasn't just one killer; there was actually two. Gordon then discovers Bullock has been paying for his old partner's treatment at the retirement place.

While the Goat kidnaps his next victim, Oswald tells his mother he actually has a friend. She tells him not to trust the police, but Oswald stays this one is different. Gordon will help him make it to the top. 

With the help of Nygma, Gordon and Bullock end up confronting the Goat copycat at the same abandoned warehouse. While Bullock fights the serial killer, Gordon rescues the damsel in distress. After falling down the stairs, Bullock is about to be killed when Gordon suddenly knocks out the Goat. 

Bullock makes a connection to the killers to Dr. Marks. He ends up fighting with one of her patients. Just as Dr. Marks is about to escape, Bullock shoots him in the leg. 

Selina Kyle (Carmen Bicondova) show up at Bruce (David Mazouz)'s mansion. She notices his conspiracy map of connections, which point to the crime families and board members of Wayne Enterprises. She steals something from Bruce's desk and leaves into the shadows.

Barbara tries to help Gordon escape from the police, but he lets himself get arrested. By the time he returns to the precinct, Bullock is also arrested. Bullock and Gordon are about to put into a cell together when Oswald shows up alive and well to save the day. 

Bullock now knows Gordon has been lying to him in Gotham. Readers, what did you think of Spirit of the Goat?
