Carrie Underwood to Go 'Unplugged,' will Appear on VH1's' 'Behind the Music'

Country superstar Carrie Underwood announced on Wednesday that she will share the story of her rise from small town 'American Idol' winner glory to five-time Grammy Award winning fame in a VH1 'Behind the Music' special to be aired later this fall, as well as perform an intimate acoustic set in a special entitled "VH1 Presents: Carrie Underwood Unplugged."

The "Before He Cheats" singer appeared on the VH1 show "Big Morning Buzz Live" and announced that the raw and uncut music session for "Unplugged" will be filmed in New York later on this week.

VH1's "Unplugged" is a showcase which features popular musical acts in performances typically highlighted by acoustics. Former "Unplugged" performers include Adele, Gym Class Heroes, Kelly Clarkson, Train, and Mumford and Sons.

Underwood's rise to fame will also be profiled in an intimate VH1 "Behind the Music" documentary, which will debut later on this fall.

"VH1 Presents: Carrie Underwood Unplugged" is set to premiere on VH1 on October 2. Underwood will perform an acoustic set of songs from her latest album "Blown Away," as well as feature some past favorite hits.
