Joan Rivers Death Lawsuit: Find Out Why Daughter Melissa Rivers Wants To Make Those Responsible Pay For Her Mother's Death!

Joan Rivers's daughter Melissa Rivers has gone through hell and back since her mother died, but she is now moving closer to filing a lawsuit against those responsible for her mother's death.

According to E! News, Melissa has hired the law firm Gair to determine what kind of wrongful death case she would have against those involved in the comedienne's passing. Even though she could get a lot of money from the endoscopy clinic that performed Joan's throat procedure that's not her main intention for filing a lawsuit.

"It's not about the money," a source told E!. "For Melissa, this is about getting an answer about why this happened and making sure it never happens again. The only way to get these answers is to file a lawsuit. Melissa wants answers-not money."

"In order to fully determine all the facts and circumstances surrounding the death of Joan Rivers, we confirm that our firm has been engaged by Melissa Rivers and her family," the law firm's managing partner Ben Rubinowitz said.

The New York City Office of Chief Medical Examiner determined that Joan died due to lack of oxygen going to the brain then suffering from cardiac arrest which led to a coma during the outpatient procedure on her vocal chords.

The facility where it happened, Yorkville Endoscopy in New York City, said she was under "light to moderate sedation," which refuted a report by the NY Daily News that said, "[She] underwent an unplanned biopsy on her vocal cords, performed by her private doctor, while at the clinic."

In a statement following her legendary mother's passing, Melissa thanked everyone around the world for their outpouring of love for her family.

"As my son Cooper and I mourn the loss of my mother, we want to thank everyone for the beautiful cards and flowers conveying heartfelt messages and condolences, which continue to arrive from around the world and through social media," she wrote on WhoSay. "My mother would have been overwhelmed by the scope and depth of the love that people have expressed for her. It is certainly helping to lift our spirits during this time."
